About DMCA

The DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) is a United States copyright law enacted in 1998 that addresses copyright issues related to digital media. The DMCA implements two World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) treaties: the WIPO Copyright Treaty and the WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty.

While based on US law, we respect international copyright protections and comply with applicable Indian laws including the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Copyright Infringement Notification

If you believe content on Secure Bugs infringes your copyright, please send a written communication including:

  • Your contact information (address, telephone, email)
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • URL of the allegedly infringing content
  • Statement that you have a good faith belief the use is unauthorized
  • Statement that the information is accurate under penalty of perjury
  • Physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent

Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was wrongly removed, you may submit a counter-notification containing:

  • Your contact information
  • Identification of the removed content and its location before removal
  • Statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was mistaken
  • Consent to jurisdiction in Indian courts (for Indian residents)
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Indian Legal Compliance

While we comply with DMCA provisions, we also adhere to Indian laws:

  • Copyright Act, 1957
  • Information Technology Act, 2000 (Section 52 for fair use)
  • Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2011

For Indian copyright complaints, you may also file through the Indian Copyright Office.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with Indian and international laws, we will terminate access for users who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
